About the Owner - Joanne de França - Marino

Growing up in New York City, one of Joanne's favorite pastimes was spending time with her mother (a self-proclaimed decorator) visiting Designer Show Houses and visiting Bloomingdales Furniture Department.

Joanne's other passion was to shop in small boutiques to select the perfect gift for family members...even as a child.

Following a career in residential real estate for over 15 years in Manhattan, Joanne and her young family moved to Bergen County with a beach house in Lavallette, NJ.

In the winter of 2010 it became perfectly clear while walking past a charming building with a vacant store front on the corner of Guyer Avenue and Route 35 North in Lavallette.  This would be the beginning of her dream...to own her own business, continue to work with the public, and be surrounded by beautiful things.  Thus, The Beach Home opened its doors in May 2010.

After establishing itself as a successful destination shop on the barrier island, the shop was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.

Reopening in spring of 2014, The Beach Home relocated to a fabulous space in the southern end of Lavallette.

Today, the large retail showroom on Grand Central Avenue and Jersey City Avenue offers furniture, home accessories, beach fashions and unique gifts. The shop opens in May and stays open through September.

Throughout the year, Joanne consults with home owners on projects and In the past few years, The Beach Home NJ LLC. has fully furnished brand new construction homes in Lavallette, Seaside Park and currently working on a new construction home in Ortley Beach.
